Notch support
The Apple TV remote, perfected.
Questions, bugs or ideas: support@notchremote.com. Please say which iPhone and iOS version you have, and which Apple TV.
Notch can't find my Apple TV
- Your iPhone and Apple TV must be on the same Wi-Fi network (not a guest network, and not a VPN that blocks local devices).
- Allow Local Network for Notch: iPhone Settings → Notch → Local Network.
- Wake the Apple TV once with its own remote, then tap Try again in Notch.
It asks for a code
The first time, your Apple TV shows a four-digit code. Type it into Notch. If it stops responding later, open the device list in Notch (the Apple TV name at the top) and choose Pair again.
Volume doesn't show a number
An Apple TV that controls the TV's volume through HDMI cannot report a number. Notch estimates it. If you have a Denon, Marantz, Yamaha, Onkyo, Pioneer, HEOS or Sonos receiver or speaker, connect it under Settings → Volume & receiver for the exact level.
Notch Pro
Notch Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks macros, saving your own presets, fine-tuning and the Haptic studio. To bring it back on a new iPhone: Settings → About → Restore purchase.
Control Center, Siri and Shortcuts
Add Notch controls from Control Center (Add a control → Notch Remote Controls), or use the Notch actions in the Shortcuts app. Controls open Notch for a moment, because it holds the connection to your Apple TV.
Try it without an Apple TV
On the first screen tap No Apple TV? Try the demo. You can leave it from Settings → About.
Notch is an independent app and is not affiliated with Apple Inc.
